Ford Environmental Ltd is committed to protecting employees, contractors, clients, occupants and others who may be affected by our work.
1. Our Commitment
Health and safety is treated as a core part of how work is planned, managed and delivered.
We aim to comply with applicable UK health and safety legislation and relevant requirements associated with asbestos-related work.
2. Planning and Risk Assessment
Work will be considered before it begins so that foreseeable hazards can be identified and suitable controls established.
Depending on the work involved, this may include risk assessments, plans of work, site-specific controls and emergency arrangements.
3. Asbestos Work
Appropriate controls may include containment, controlled working methods, suitable PPE and RPE, decontamination arrangements, waste controls and prevention of fibre release.
4. Training and Competence
Personnel will be provided with appropriate information, instruction and training relevant to the work they undertake.
Tasks will be allocated with consideration for competence, experience and applicable legal requirements.
5. Personal Protective Equipment
Suitable PPE will be used where required by the task and risk assessment.
Where respiratory protective equipment is required, appropriate equipment and relevant controls will be considered.
6. Work Equipment
Work equipment will be selected, used and maintained with appropriate regard to safety and suitability for the task.
7. Site Controls
Depending on the work involved, controls may include restricted access, warning signage, segregation, containment and controlled entry to work areas.
8. Emergency Arrangements
Appropriate emergency arrangements will be considered for the work being undertaken.
Personnel are expected to report incidents, dangerous situations, uncontrolled releases or other safety concerns promptly.
9. Contractors and Others
Contractors working for or alongside Ford Environmental Ltd are expected to cooperate with relevant health and safety procedures and legal requirements.
10. Incident Reporting
Accidents, incidents, near misses and significant safety concerns should be reported and reviewed where appropriate.
Corrective action may be taken where necessary to prevent recurrence.
11. Review and Improvement
Health and safety arrangements may be reviewed following incidents, changes in work activity, regulatory developments or other relevant changes.
